The Wessel-Werk EBK340-QDC has been in use for over a dozen different nameplates of canister and central vacuums both foreign and domestic for over 6 years. Finally, after a long wait (and some begging) the EBK340 has become available to the central vacuum market in the Aspria CV6855 Premium Attachment Kit. The measure by which all other power brushes should be judged, the EBK340-QDC has the power and features needed to clean carpeting of any type, and of any quantity.

There are many special components that lend themselves to the EBK340-QDC's phenomenal cleaning ability. Perhaps most importantly, the EBK340-QDC uses the most reliable power transmission system in use today: the Geared Belt Drive. Transferring the full power of the brush motor to the spinning brush (and furthermore to your carpets) is what sets this power brush apart from the others.

The geared belt (sometimes called "cogged" or "toothed", colored red in the photo below) far surpasses traditional flat belt products because it does not rely on the stored tension of rubber to transfer the motor's power to the brush roll. Both motor and brush roll are geared and matched to the belt, which provides tensionless power to the roller for faster speed, consistent motion and the highest reliability for cleaner carpets with less effort.

Spinning the brush fast is one of the most important factors of power brush carpet cleaning. Faster brushes increase the bristle contact to the carpet fibers for better brushing action. It also increases agitation to bring embedded soil to the surface, at the same time creating an auger action that reduces the tendency to spatter, unlike slower brushes that tend to spread dirt around before it can be pulled into the vacuum's air stream.

Never Fail Belt System
If you have ever used a vacuum for any amount of time you will have most likely also replaced its belt, probably more than once, and perhaps several times. Most vacuums and power brushes use a flat belt made of rubber. The geared drive system of the EBK340-QDC uses a fiberglass reinforced toothed belt similar to that of an automotive timing belt with embedded fiberglass strands for superior strength.

The geared belt of the EBK340-QDC is also the widest we have seen in a vacuum power brush and will last for many years, most likely never requiring replacement with normal use. Driven by a powerful full size brush motor with lifetime lubricated ball bearing shaft, the EBK340-QDC comes ready to work. The entire geared belt drive system is protected with a patented motor protection integrated circuit that will detect any problem in the brush before it can cause damage and will shut power off to the nozzle. No longer does vacuuming up the dog's chew toy mean you have to drop everything and run to the vacuum store for a new belt.

With the EBK340-QDC you need only remove the obstruction, plug in your vacuum and start cleaning again. Equipped with two top mounted LED indicator lights you will always know when your brush is operating correctly as with a green indicator, or when the brush action has stopped as signaled by a red light.

With some older vacuums the brush roller belt runs in "dirty air", the same path where vacuumed debris travels to the bag. The EBK340-QDC's belt rides in its own clean path, away from paper clips and staples. And because the geared belt system does not rely on large flat surface contact to drive the brush you have more space under the nozzle for cleaning brushes, plus better edge cleaning on both sides.

The EBK340-QDC also gives us many other great features including the auger bristle arrangement that brings the dirt and debris to the center of the nozzle where it is pulled into the wide throat. Developed in an airflow testing facility, the EBK340-QDC's airflow dispersal pattern guided by a unique housing design applies even and consistent suction across the entire cleaning path.

The EBK340-QDC has other features that directly effect the use of the nozzle including the full tilt/swivel QDC connector. Allowing for a full range of motion, the nozzle connector will tilt completely back to the floor and swivel fully from left to right, allowing easy nozzle driving by the user. The nozzle connector locks into the upright position for quick parking while in use, so you can easily pause your cleaning to answer the door or move an object from your cleaning path.

The parking feature also stops the power brush automatically, restarting again when the handle is released into the normal cleaning position. The EBK340-QDC is also wrapped in a full non-marring bumper to protect both the nozzle and your furniture without leaving marks on your baseboards.

The nozzle's bottom plate is equipped with four independent wheels. Two front "helper" wheels assist in transferring the nozzle from one surface to another, easily navigating transitions including thresholds. Set on independent and lubricated steel axles the rear wheels are over-width for smooth movement on even the thickest of pile carpeting. Differing from other nozzles, the EBK340-QDC rear wheels and axles are connected together and rotate within the nozzle's main body, similar to the rear wheels of an automobile.

No more squeaky wheels, no wheels "snapping off" their plastic mounts. Furthermore the bottom plate is void of floor damaging protrusions with all metal screw heads recessed and wheels that are covered with a soft vinyl tread. The EBK340-QDC is well at home on hard surfaces too and great for vacuuming mattresses to remove dust mites safely and easily.

Leave it to Wessel-Werk to enhance every part of the Power Brush, even the headlight. Overlooked by other manufacturers, a vacuum systems headlight can be a source of frustration for many. With a headlight on the power brush you can see the path ahead and illuminate dark areas such as under beds and behind doors or in closets - avoiding objects on the floor and shining light on spots that need to be cleaned. While other power brushes still use a regular glass bulb with a thin filament that burns out the first time the vacuums nozzle is bumped too hard, Wessel-Werk uses a fluorescent bulb that burns bright and is not subject to stress breaks. The florescent element also lasts much longer than regular bulbs and generates less heat during use. While not as critical as motor or belt design the fluorescent bulb is a welcomed advantage in the EBK340-QDC.

The EBK340-QDC is constructed with precision components, which are balanced for vibration and noise, lending to quiet use of a central cleaning system. Even the power brush body is balanced for truly straight tracking and the wide 13.5" (340mm) cleaning path remains highly mobile thanks to the full tilt, swivel connector. The EBK340-QDC is an outstanding asset for any CVS system, and will greatly increase the carpet cleaning performance of both new and older CV Systems.

CV6855-PT Standard Connect Hose
This model of the CV6855 series is the corded hose often called a Pigtail or Standard Connect hose style, sub model -PT. Our standard connect Premium attachment group includes a new lightweight crush-proof hose with a regular connection cuff that includes a 7 foot cord attachment (called the 'pig-tail') built into the hose end and which plugs into a standard electrical outlet somewhere nearby the vacuum inlet to provide electricity to the premium power brush.

This type of connection fits most wall valves on the market today where power for electric attachments is not supplied directly by the CV wall plate. Our universal corded hose is designed to work with all standard wall plates, even some of those that were installed years ago and those that may not have originally included a powered attachment group. Standard connection is generally the preferred inlet valve type for retrofitting installations (new central vacuum install, pre-existing home). This type of installation does not require that you also run 120V wiring to each valve, only a low-voltage signal wire that is used in all CVS installations. To use the Central Vacuum System with standard connection valve and corded hose you need only plug in your hose to the wall.

When you need to supply electricity to the powered brush for cleaning carpets just plug in the cord that is connected to the hose wall cuff to an electrical outlet somewhere nearby. The pigtail cord on the hose is 7 feet long, and can easily stretch across a hallway if needed. The CV6855 series is also available in model CV6855-DC with a direct connection wall end. The 30ft. & 360° CVS Hose
The lightweight current carrying hose is 30 feet long with a soft molded ElectraFlex© hose body. The CVS hose body is highly flexible to make sharp turns without cutting off the suction. The handgrip is also the latest design in ergonomic "Gas Pump" grips. Keeping the grab area small means less fatigue on your fingers and wrist than with gripping the whole diameter of the hose. The CV6855 Premium's hose body is an oversized 1 3/8" ID with a smooth bore interior for better airflow properties, an estimated 20% better than the standard 1.25" hoses. The larger interior diameter hose gives air moving through the hose less resistance for increased velocity and through flow. The new 1 3/8" hose works exactly the same as older 1.25" hoses.

The hose-to-grip connection has a full 360° swivel union that keeps you tangle free while moving about room to room, and the fingertip switch is 3 position giving you complete control over the remote suction unit and the powered brush. The switch has a center off position, move the switch in one direction to turn on the power unit for straight suction cleaning or to clean hard floors.

Moving the switch to the third position will turn on the suction unit and also energize the powered brush for carpet cleaning. An industry standard, this hose is manufactured by Plastiflex for the Aspria kits and will fit all new and most existing CVS systems with standard connection wall plates.

New 35' hose upgrade option available at order.
The same gas-pump style swivel grip 1 3/8" ID hose is now available in 35ft length. The 35' hose is the longest electric hose produced and the longest allowed by UL for residential cleaning systems. We have been told of a website that claims to offer a "36 foot" central vacuum hose. This is a misleading claim by a website that uses a standard 35 foot hose and includes the ends of the hose in the measure which adds the extra foot of total reach. All electric hoses (dual volt, 4 wire) are either 30 or 35 feet in length, not including the ends.

Telescopic Steel Wand with Cord Management
Connecting the EBK340-QDC Power Brush to the hose handle was given no less thought than the power brush itself. The new double action Myraton Telescopic Wand with QDC (Quick Disconnect) provides effortless attachment and adjustment of the power brush for carpet cleaning. Through a easy to use thumb operated button the chromed steel wand can be adjusted for any sized user, extending from 24.5" - 38.75".

The new Myraton QDC tele-wand has incredibly smooth slide action. The new latching mechanism gives a firm lock that does not slip and is easy to set. The new adjustable wand also has a redesigned interior that is smooth to reduce debris snags and increase airflow. Sealed from the dirt and dust passing through the wand itself, the telescopic action is completely maintenance free.

The ultimate in power brush convenience, the Myraton telescopic wand features a quick disconnect system that enables you to easily remove the power brush from the system. In this QDC system the cord remains with the wand where connectors on each end allow it to be unplugged from the power brush at the bottom or from the hose grip at the top. This allows you to switch cleaning tools from any connector without having to unplug cords or remove connectors.

Using the QDC System is simple. The EBK340-QDC has a receiver engineered into its swivel connector. The Myraton Wand has the built on cord with its mating connector held in place. When you insert the wand into the power brush the system makes the connection of the plug and locks them together. To release the wand you step on the foot tab of the power brush and power plug is disconnected from its socket and the wand is released from the EBK340-QDC. Without bending or stooping you can easily change the cleaning tool from power brush to floor brush - then to crevice nozzle and back to power brush in just seconds - without latches, buttons or plugs.

The lower "stationary" part of the wand system includes the more reliable rivet down steel lock pin that works with the QDC to keep the wand engaged into the EBK340-QDC power brush. The QDC connector is mounted to the wand and two soft nylon cord keepers come preinstalled with the coiled power cord on the wand. The upper section of the power nozzle cord is a stretch type coil, similar to a telephone handset cord, providing tension while in the cleaning position.

The top of the telescopic wand includes an easy release tab (called a thumb saver) to quickly disengage the hose from the wand and a small crease at the top of the extension tube that centers and lowers the hose button lock for easy attachment. The back of the upper wand holds the permanently riveted Plastiflex Cord Management connector. This cord connection collar holds the coiled power cord in a ready-mounted position for quick connection to the hose grip.

Simply attach the hose to the wand and the power nozzle's cord is automatically plugged in for you. Pushing the release tab on the front of the wand lets you quickly detach the wand from the hose, no fiddling with a cord plug. A feature highly prized by central vacuumer's, the quick attach cord management system makes changing from one tool to another at the hose grip fast and easy.

Deluxe Widepath Hard Floor Brush
Just like the EBK340-QDC power brush and the Plastiflex premium hose, it is the attachments that get the cleaning done and make using a CV System a pleasure to use. When it comes to hard floors we made sure to include the best true hard floor brush. The Centec FT-855 natural bristle wide path 14 inch cleaning brush is made in the UK. The FT-855 floor tool exceeds the standard floor brush used in most generic central vacuum kits, particularly for uneven floor surfaces or homes with pets. With its unique castle cut design and soft vinyl cover the FT-855 lets you clean hard floors and walls quickly and safely.

The FT-855 is a heavy-duty floor brush suitable for home or commercial use. The expansive working width provides excellent coverage in large areas and is also very maneuverable with a full swivel neck. The FT-855 has a full wrap of natural fill bristle brush strips front and back with vinyl outboard rollers and a soft vinyl outer cover that keeps the tool from scratching or marring wood or laminate floors. The large (50mm) center opening allows for optimal airflow when working with the higher power supplied by central vacuum systems without drag, seal-off or excessive noise. The brush set is detachable for easy cleaning in the sink or dishwasher providing for years of trouble free use. The floor tool's connector is a standard friction fit for quick connection to telescopic wand or for use with the ABS wand set. Aluminum Telescopic Cleaning Wand

In every cleaning action, it is the tool at the direction of the user that gets the job done. Quality above the floor cleaning tools, just as with the FT-855 hard floor brush, not only get the job done faster but get it done better. The cleaning tool is where the suction meets the dirt and you need the best connection design between the two for superior performance. We had many choices available in this area and we selected the best for inclusion in our custom kit. To start with we replaced the regular round dusting brush with our professional dusting tool aptly named the Ultimate Dusting Brush; Wessel-Werk model UDB174-32. The UDB174 dusting tool is the nozzle we also ship with our commercial backpack vacuum systems for heavy duty cleaning where it is prized by maid services and professional cleaners.

The Ultimate Dusting Brush from Wessel is an indispensable tool in any cleaning arsenal. If you use your vacuum to clean above the floor or for other utility work, a dusting brush is often the tool you will use. Unfortunately the dusting brush included with most vacuums is too small to be used efficiently, has an inconvenient design or shape and may have bristles that are too short or made of material that is inflexible, leaving dust behind on the surface being cleaned.

With one tool, Wessel-Werk has addressed all the deficiencies of regular dusting brushes. The cleaning face has been shaped for the way people clean. The UDB has a five-inch cleaning depth with a 1.5 inch protected opening. The elongated service end of the tool has nearly twice the cleaning area of standard dusting brushes letting the user do more work in a single pass. The top of the UDB is also tapered and the bristles swept forward letting you clean into corners and reach areas inaccessible to other tools; and the suction opening is tapered so suction is evenly distributed the whole length of the tool.

There are 68 individual tufts mounted in a double offset row to the chassis with raised connectors to hold the bristles securely to the tool. The soft bristles are longer to flex as the tool passes over the object being cleaned, using stored tension in the bending bristle to knock dust particles off the surface and into the air stream. The poly bristles and heavy-duty housing are also water washable and fit easily in the top rack of your dishwasher.

The deluxe vinyl upholstery tool included in the CV6855 is 6" (152mm) wide with a scalloped bottom plate insert and a grooming brush. The shoe design insures continuous air-flow without the need for a suction reducer, eliminating "seal off". The brush strip gently engages upholstery to lift debris and groom surfaces.

The brush also helps to remove hair, pet fur, lint and other clingy soils that suction alone will not remove. The soft outer cover will not mar light colored furniture or scratch soft surfaces and the friction fitting connector will allow use directly at the end of the hose or with any wand extension.

Our unique crevice tool is 13" (330mm) long with flat profile and slots for those "hard-to-reach" corners and crevices where dust and debris can hide. Slots provide additional airflow along the cleaning surface underneath furniture and cabinets. Made of textured ABS plastic the crevice tool is strong enough to take abuse but also just a bit flexible to keep it from breaking.

Most often crevice tools are used for cleaning areas and objects never conceived of by the engineers, and are jammed into, next to, under and between anything and everything. Realizing long ago that crevice tools are used often, and often abused, the crevice tool was redesigned to stand up to rigorous use. The extra length of the crevice nozzle, a full 13 inches, helps you to continue jamming, pushing and prying the crevice tool wherever you need to clean.

Because you can only clean what you can reach with your central vacuum, we wanted to leave you no excuses when using our Premium attachment group. The Aspria CV6855 attachment kit includes two more wands (bringing the total to 3 sets!) made of lightweight ABS for utility cleaning. Each wand is 20" in length and also features a standard 32mm friction fit to inter-operate with every other attachment in the group.

The Wessel-Werk PT160 Turbo tool is another German built marvel and uses the air stream produced by the CVS power unit to turn the brush roll, adding agitation without the use of electricity. As central vacuum system power units generally produce significantly more airflow than portable vacuum cleaners, the PT160 turbo brush works particularly well in the CV6855 attachment kit.

Agitation at the surface you are cleaning greatly increases the vacuum's ability to move embedded particles from the carpeted or upholstered area into the vacuum system. The Wessel-Werk Turbine hand tool can increase your cleaning efficiency in these areas 2 to 5 times standard cleaning ability. The PT160 Turbine system is simple and effective. The air is pulled through the tool and across two fans. As the air turns the fans, the fan shaft turns a gear, which then turns a geared belt connected to the brush roller.

The turbine system is not new technology and has been in use for quite a number of years. What is new about this system is the overall size of the tool. The width of the cleaning nozzle is just 6". The nozzle depth is just 2" with a full tool length of only 8". The small size of this tool allows you to reach areas such as on the stairs where a full power nozzle will not fit. The Turbo hand tool is most often considered an extra accessory, priced at $30. - $50. or more, but the CV6855 attachment group includes this great attachment.

Premium Storage
Now that you have the ultimate CVS attachment group, you need the ultimate storage solution to keep the tools from piling up in your closet - after all using your CVS should be convenient. Even a kit as complete as the CV6855 Premium should just store in your closet, not fill it up.

To keep your tools in reach while you clean floors, the CV6855 includes the wand mount tool caddie to keep your three above the floor tools on hand, ready for use. The wand caddie snaps onto the telescopic wand and provides three connectors to store the dust brush, crevice tool and upholstery nozzle. If you prefer, the wand caddie can also attach to the ultra-light telescopic instead.
